Today I want to review the prAna Halle hiking pants for women. Not long back I took a look at the prAna Stretch Zion pants for Men and I was suitably impressed with them. With that in mind, I was excited to look further into another pair of hiking pants from prAna. So without further ado, let's take a closer look.
prAna Halle Hiking Pants for Women
A very sleek pair of pants that will not only look great on the trail, but will also tick all the required boxes in terms of functional requirements for a hiker.

Overview
The first place to start with the prAna Women's Halle hiking pants is in their make-up. Made with stretchy nylon and spandex, they are perfect for hiking on trails or even going off trail over more difficult terrain. The pants close at the front using an easy to use snap front closure.
The accompanying articulated knees will also help ensure you have the necessary flexibility to negotiate trickier terrain while out in the wilds. Some folks commented that they had the feel of a pair of yoga pants but with the abrasion resistance and durability of hiking pants. A pretty cool mix!
Overall, I really like the look of the prAna pants. they have a slim and sleek look, dare I say sexy. They won't look out of place on a days casual wear and they will be just as comfortable to wear when not on the move on the trail.
Weather Protection
The prAna Halle pants have a DWR coating and so will provide some waterproof protection but should they get wet in a heavier downpour, the nylon fabric also enables quick drying and breathability.
Quick drying is essential. While I always like a bit of waterproof protection in my hiking pants, for full waterproof capability I always recommend fully waterproof over trousers as an extra layer. From my experience, it is the most economical and effective way to get really good comfortable rain protection on the trail.
The pants have UPF protection up to a rating of 50 so you'll stay protected in the midday sun. The pants also roll up on the legs so you can turn them into capri style pants / shorts should you want to.
Again, a nice feature I like to have in pair of hiking pants, really makes them more versatile in the summer months.
Pockets & Storage
Storage wise, the Halle hiking pants come with two front and two back pockets, similar to normal pants in that regard. However, there's also a hidden stash pocket on the upper leg.
I'm a fan of handy storage so thumbs up here. Nothing out of the ordinary but the standard pockets should do the trick.
All in all, a very versatile and functional pair of hiking pants that also look really good. While we are mainly concerned with hiking, I don't think the prAna pants would look out of place being used for other scenarios, e.g. travelling, casual use, etc.
Best Uses
The prAna Halle pants for women are a sleek and stylish pair of pants that are comfortable, pleasing to the eye and very functional. All in all, these pants will work great for everything from say hiking to day-today casual use.
In terms of hiking, you could use them most if not all of the year round while out on the trail.

Conclusion
I think prAna have another great pair of general use, 3 season hiking pants in the Halle pants for women. Although, with a good pair of waterproof pants as an outer layer you might well be comfortable using them all year round, depending where you do your hiking though of course.
The stretch nylon with articulated knees should provide the capability for adequate movement while out on the trail.
The quick drying nylon also means you can dry off quickly should you get caught in a rain blast while out in the wilds. The pants look really cool, but functionality always comes first!
Finally, I think the price for the prAna hiking pants is very good and sits well within a budget that I would expect to pay for a good pair of hiking pants.
